'Dont Dump, Design' Fashion Show
Let me introduce you to my latest project! Since starting at Mary Portas’ Living and Giving shop in June myself and two other devoted Brand Ambassadors have been putting together ideas for our ‘Don’t Dump, Design’ fashion show and now we are in the final lead-up to the night!
On the 7th of October 2012 The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh will be host to a luxurious evening of high fashion and retail therapy with the focus of raising money and awareness for Save the Children.
The theme of the evening will be Upcycling. Up to twenty of the best young fashion students and graduates from Edinburgh will be asked to create a one-off garment from fabric that they have found at Mary’s Living and Giving shop. The resulting outfits will be presented in a catwalk show that will promote the importance of recycling and reiterate Mary’s Living and Giving message of ‘Don’t Dump, Donate’.
Guests will be invited to attend the catwalk show and subsequent auction of upcycled outfits. They will also look on as four prestigious judges present one lucky student with the accolade of winning top designer on the night. These guests and the public will have the opportunity to visit the range of pop-up shops which will be set-up in two adjoining ‘speakeasy’ rooms.
We are ridiculously excited to have the likes of Anna Freemantle and Hayley Scanlan on our judging panel and some of Edinburgh’s most exciting upcyling fashion ranges for sale. Come along also to be in with the chance to win a made-to-measure lingerie set and browse our own range of selected designer/vintage finds from Mary’s Living and Giving rails.
If you like the sound of this glam night out please come along, bring your friends and support us! We would absolutely love to see you there. Look out for me carrying a clip board and trying to look calm!
Tickets are available at the Mary’s Living and Giving shop in Stockbridge or e-mail me to reserve a few for you. Follow us on twitter at MarysLGShop_EH4 for updates.
Thank you!
